Textainer Selects Tripwire Enterprise for Increased Operational Efficiency, Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance

Market Wire, March, 2008

Textainer, a leader in the marine container leasing industry, has selected and implemented Tripwire Enterprise, the leading configuration audit and control solution. Textainer chose Tripwire Enterprise to increase the efficiency of operations across its distributed IT infrastructure, which includes offices at every major shipping port in the world. Tripwire enables Textainer's IT staff to monitor this heterogeneous environment remotely if necessary and respond to unplanned or unauthorized changes immediately, increasing the efficiency of operations. In addition, Textainer, a 25-year-old company that went public in late 2007, has leveraged Tripwire for compliance with accounting regulations specified in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

"Textainer has a unique IT environment. Some of our offices are located in remote areas, where IT may not be able to fix problems on site," said Gregory Coan, CIO of Textainer. "Thus, it's important that IT operations be as streamlined as possible, so that staff can respond to changes quickly. Tripwire gives us the tools to do that while also ensuring we are compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements, like Sarbanes-Oxley."

Tripwire automatically detects unauthorized, non-compliant change to enterprise-wide systems and virtual environments and immediately alerts IT staff so that exceptions to its change and release management policies can be immediately updated and investigated. This approach enables Textainer to achieve and maintain a known and trusted state across its IT infrastructure -- as well as meeting regulatory requirements such as and also ensures continuous compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements, including The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, also known as the Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act of 2002.
