CX2 Technologies, Inc. Announces Sale of Digital Base Station to FCC Licensee in New York
Market Wire, April, 2008
CX2 Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: CXTO) today announced the sale of a CX2 ESP1000(TM) Digital Base Station for installation in Queens, New York.
Michael Rand, president of CX2 Technologies, stated, "We are very happy to announce this sale for installation just outside Kennedy Airport. The customer is interested in supplying a combined Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and credit card swiping service to the five boroughs."
As part of the agreement, CX2 will deliver a second base station at no additional cost. The CX2 equipment will be installed in Manhattan and will be used by the commercial operator.
In addition, the base station will be used as a laboratory, as CX2 Technologies continues to work on developing its integrated data solution for public safety organizations. This installation will allow CX2, along with other members of the Coalition for Integrated Data Emergency Response Solutions (CIDERS), to experiment with applications such as 3-D mapping and plume modeling in midtown Manhattan.
President Michael Rand stated, "CX2 Technologies intends to use the site to support our assertion that the CX2 data modem and digital base stations can support the FCC while it re-evaluates what to do with the 700 MHz D Block of spectrum. In addition, the site can demonstrate how CX2 data modems can bring a spectrum-efficient alternative to the national responder plan."
About CX2 Technologies, Inc.
CX2 Technologies, Inc. provides low-cost, spectrum-efficient wireless solutions that operate in the 220-222 MHz frequency band. The company's proprietary wireless data technology and software is designed to work optimally within very narrow 5 KHz channels. CX2 has strongly advocated the use of 220 MHz spectrum for public safety and homeland security, and has expressed these views to the Katrina Panel (the Independent Panel Reviewing the Impact of Hurricane Katrina on Communications Networks).
About CIDERS
Members of the Coalition for Integrated Data Emergency Response Solutions (CIDERS) pursue integrated data solutions that can use both existing spectrum (such as 220 MHz) and newly allocated spectrum (such as 700 MHz) to effectively address existing public safety problems. The coalition presents integrated data solutions from a variety of perspectives, including software, equipment, and spectrum perspectives. With its combined expertise, CIDERS is able to advocate for customers, the first responders themselves. Each CIDERS member supports the coalition's mission and is dedicated to helping inform regulators and legislators about alternatives to broadband-only solutions in a single spectrum band. The coalition's mission is to empower public safety organizations to provide effective and state-of-the-art emergency response services.
