Model Homes Open at Former Esprit de Corp. Headquarters in San Francisco Dogpatch

Market Wire,  April, 2008

McGuire Real Estate, a leading San Francisco real estate company and marketing partner for Build Inc. and its Homes on Esprit Park ( www.espritpark.com ) development, announced today the opening of three preview homes for public viewing. Located at 888 Minnesota in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood, two of the new models are located within the former Esprit de Corp. headquarters building. This gives visitors a chance to view firsthand the "green and sustainable" design philosophy that was applied in renovating a building that was originally built in 1906.

"Homes on Esprit Park have been designed and constructed on the philosophy of building community by optimizing opportunities with design excellence as a standard," says Loring Sagan, principal of design for Build Inc. "The homes integrate the historic character of existing materials with new, modern functionality while engaging environmentally thoughtful and sustainable measures. Some of these are recycling preexisting materials back into the design, such as retaining brick walls and timber beams of the 100-year-old building and installing tankless water heaters and radiant floor heating systems, along with insulated windows."

Features and amenities at Homes on Esprit Park include private and public outdoor spaces with sizable patios, balconies and decks on the majority of units and common courtyards accented by water, plantings, landscape and seating areas. Each home has one assigned parking space and a full size storage locker. The complex includes a theater room with audio-visual, a fitness center with cardiovascular and muscular conditioning equipment and secure electronic key-card access to the project.

With a price range from the low $600,000s to $1,595,000, 21 homes are now under contract with a 3 percent nonrefundable deposit.

"People are attracted by the superb quality of the homes and the livability of the community along with the peacefulness of the neighborhood," says Rob Levy, McGuire Partner(TM) and manager of its development sales group. "They like the convenient access to the Third Street light rail and Cal Train just two blocks away and immediate access to Highway 280."

It was recently announced that the owners of SPQR and A16, popular city neighborhood restaurants in the Fillmore and the Marina respectively, will open a third restaurant this fall on the ground floor of Homes on Esprit Park. Throughout the Dogpatch, a flourishing and vibrant community is growing that includes an eclectic mix of historic and new homes, retail and light industry and an expanding arts community.

Homes on Esprit Park is located on the site of the former Esprit de Corp. headquarters and bordering 1.8-acre Esprit Park. The unique development comprises 142 homes in the Dogpatch at the edge of Potrero Hill. The sales office is located at 888 Minnesota Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 12 to 4 p.m. and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m. For more information: call 415-920-1929 or visit www.espritpark.com .
