Angelo State University to Present Automating Around & Beyond Banner at SunGard SUMMIT 2008

Market Wire, April, 2008

UC4 Software, a leading provider of workload automation and IT process optimization solutions, today announced that Jeff Riels, Oracle DBA at Angelo State University, will present "Extend the UDC: Around & Beyond Banner" at SunGard Summit 2008.

When planning their SunGard Higher Education Banner implementation, Angelo State University recognized they could accelerate completion of student processing from admission through matriculation by automating routine manual tasks to reduce errors and free-up staff for more productive tasks.

UC4 Workload Automation Suite was deployed by Angelo State to complement Banner with solutions that extend student admissions, letter generation, financial aid disbursement and other university processing. Using integrated automation templates, Angelo State organized jobs, and synchronized data center housekeeping tasks and legacy application processes to mitigate risk and remove latency from their critical system processing.

"Without automated letter generation it would be impossible for us to generate the 88 different types of student letters that we need to get out each night," said Riels. "When you see the number of steps and dependency checks for this and other job flows, you also see the potential for mistakes and sequencing delays. Removing the need for our users to manually submit requests and check reports has allowed us to eliminate typing errors, save time and be more responsive to their needs."

In his presentation, Riels will expand on the implementation process adopted by Angelo State and offer recommendations on getting maximum value from functional and technical teams working together. He will also identify key areas where automation had a significant impact and report back with measurable results on the success that Angelo State University has achieved. Matt Busch, Product Marketing Director, UC4 Software, will join Riels in the presentation and give a live demonstration of UC4 Workload Automation Suite.

SunGard Summit 2008 will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center April 13-16th. "Extending the UDC: Around and Beyond Banner" will be presented on Sunday, April 13th at 4 pm. In addition, UC4 Software will feature its workload automation solutions for SunGard Banner users in the exhibition area.

UC4 Workload Automation Suite offers process templates that can be rapidly configured to fit individual school requirements. Validated and proven interfaces with SunGard Higher Education Banner and other external applications enables seamless integration of student administration, HR, financial aid processing with other workload. Centralized management and control simplifies operations by removing manual intervention and reducing latency. Higher education institutions benefit from enhanced performance and increased throughput to yield rapid and measurable operational efficiencies.
