Network World Official Blogger Awards AlgoSec Best of Show at RSA Conference 2008
Market Wire, April, 2008
Network World's official security blogger has awarded AlgoSec "Best of Show - RSA 2008" for its AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer(TM) (AFA). Security expert Richard Stiennon selected the AFA from more than 350 exhibitors at the RSA Conference 2008, calling it a "must have" technology for anyone who manages firewalls with 100 or more rules.
Stiennon wrote: "This is the product I wish I had had when I was at PricewaterhouseCoopers doing internal security audits. Firewall analyzer grabs a configuration file from your firewall (Cisco, Juniper or Check Point) and immediately identifies redundant rules, conflicting rules, canceling rules, and even unused rules."
AlgoSec's Firewall Analyzer product suite has software solutions for firewall operations management, risk management and policy optimization. The suite is constantly updated to support new functions, including AlgoSec's recently released automatically completed PCI DSS, SOX and ISO 27001 reports out-of-the-box. Where there is a difficult, complex or time-consuming aspect of firewall administration, AlgoSec aims to help users by finding ways to automate those tasks and reduce the time they spend managing their ever changing firewall environments. Through its off-line setup, the application is easy to deploy and use even in the most complex firewall environments. Its solutions are being used by more than 200 enterprises worldwide.
"We are thrilled that a security luminary like Richard Stiennon has recognized the value that the AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer is providing to enterprises looking for a better way to meet their compliance reporting and risk management activities while improving their existing operational and change management processes," said Aimee Rhodes, AlgoSec's VP of Marketing.
Stiennon has served stints at Gartner, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Fortinet and Netrex, the world's first Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). To read Stiennon's Best of RSA 2008 visit: http://www.algosec.com/en/news/coverage.php
