Inphi Corporation's DDR3 Registering Clock Driver Is the First JEDEC Compliant Product to Support DDR3-800 to DDR3-1600 Data Rates
Market Wire, April, 2008
Inphi® Corporation ( www.inphi-corp.com ), the world leader in performance, analog performance and I/O signal integrity, today announced that its landmark INSSTE32882-GS04 Double Data Rate (DDR3) Registered Clock Driver is the industry's only solution that has passed validation, qualification and manufacturing readiness testing compliant to industry standard qualification requirements as defined by JEDEC Standard JESD47. Now available in production quantities, the INSSTE32882-GS04 delivers unmatched performance with the lowest tDYNOFF, tightly controlled propagation delay (tPD), excellent output jitter characteristics and quad-rank support. Part of the market-leading ExacTik® family, the DDR3 register is evidence of Inphi's continuing commitment to drive the breadth and depth of the server RDIMM ecosystem by delivering production-ready silicon that meets or exceeds industry standard requirements.
"Our customers rely on Inphi to deliver the highest performance, quality and reliability in DDR3 memory logic devices, which is why we put each part through the industry's toughest quality and qualification testing," said Gopal Raghavan, CTO of Inphi Corporation. "This extraordinary level of testing ensures all our parts, like the production-ready INSSTE32882-GS04, deliver a new class of performance and reliability to server memory designers."
The innovative INSSTE32882-GS04 exhibits the lowest jitter and most tightly controlled propagation delay in the industry, giving module manufacturers the highest manufacturing margin for memory module production. The INSSTE32882-GS04 has a typical propagation delay of 0.8 nS, well below the JEDEC proposed specification of 1.0 nS with minimal variation across process, voltage and temperature.
In addition, the INSSTE32882-GS04 meets DDR3-800 to DDR3-1600 rates, allowing memory vendors to use a single register for all four speed grades while reducing costs and simplifying the bill of materials. The INSSTE32882-GS04 also exceeds the tDYNOFF specification at all operating data rates. tDYNOFF is a critical specification that ensures the server platform has adequate margins across all operating conditions, frequency and density.
Designed for high-performance DDR3 RDIMM server applications, the Inphi INSSTE32882-GS04 supports all existing DDR3-800, DDR3-1066, DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600 standards. This new registered buffer offers quad-rank support for increased capacity in server memory. The INSSTE32882-GS04 is manufactured in 0.18 micron technology, allowing Inphi to meet aggressive pricing targets expected by computer OEMs. The new configurable registered buffer is available in a 176 Ball TFBGA 'eco-friendly' green package.
