API Sponsors Aberdeen Research Brief and Informational Webinar
Market Wire, May, 2008
Aberdeen Group published a research brief, sponsored by API Outsourcing, Inc., on the accounts payable transformation process in March 2008 entitled "A/P Transformation: Managing the Paper First to Deliver Value Later." The report identifies the paths taken and the lessons learned from early adopters engaged in a strategy to transform their A/P processes to improve performance. The research uses the Aberdeen Competitive Framework to define enterprises into three levels of practices and performances: Best-in-Class (the top 20%); Industry Average (the middle 50%); and Laggard (the bottom 30%) and examines the A/P visibility resulting from transformation efforts across the three groups. The report highlights the performance advantages which Best-in-Class organizations enjoy through outsourcing and automation of A/P; while looking at the strategies employed and the structure of their engagements to establish their leading performance. The conclusion of the research report identifies and recommends actions for companies to take to improve the performance of their A/P function.
An informational webinar entitled, "Deliver Enterprise-Wide Value through Operational Efficiencies and Cost Savings" was held in April 2008. The webinar underlined how A/P transformation influences the delivery of enterprise-wide value through operational efficiencies and cost savings. The webinar consisted of an Aberdeen subject matter expert discussing their research findings, a representative from Katun Corporation sharing their experience of gaining efficiencies and cost savings in A/P while working with API Outsourcing, and representatives from API discussing how service providers can assist in a partial or total transformation of the A/P processes.
