Egenera Awarded Best Virtualization Solution at BladeSystems Insight
Market Wire, May, 2008
Egenera Inc., the data center virtualization company, today announced its award for Best Virtualization Product at BladeSystems Insight, a prominent summit for data center-focused IT executives. Nominated and voted on solely by attendees, the Insight Award for Best Virtualization Solution recognizes the most innovative virtualization solution that drives business value for end-users. This is the second consecutive year Egenera has been awarded the event's top virtualization honor. Other nominated companies in Egenera's category were HP and Neterion.
This year's summit featured five awards recognizing vendor excellence, along with an end-user award. In addition to the Best Virtualization category, other categories included, Best Presentation, Best Blade Server Hardware, Best Data Center Innovation and Best Green Data Center Solution. Votes are cast near the end of the event, when attendees have had the opportunity to experience and evaluate the full range of companies, products and presentations. The Best Virtualization Product category was complemented by virtualization products showcased at the Summit, as well as multiple analyst presentations and panels on the topic of virtualization.
"BladeSystems Insight congratulates Egenera on its Best Virtualization Product Award at our recent summit in Tucson, Arizona. Because the awards are voted upon by our senior-level audience of end-user IT executives from across North America, this is further confirmation of Egenera's market leadership and innovation in virtualization."
"The most important measure of our success is feedback from end-users, so we're particularly gratified for the recognition from the organizers and attendees at BladeSystems Insight," said Mike Thompson, president and CEO, Egenera. "Customers are recognizing that the next step in virtualization is server infrastructure virtualization. Many companies talk about taking their customers on a 'journey toward an agile and adaptable infrastructure' -- but at Egenera, we're not just talking; we're delivering that functionality and value today. We continue to strive to provide the most powerful server infrastructure virtualization software that drives down costs and delivers true data center simplicity for our customers."
