UL Warns of Counterfeit Universal Cell Phone Charger

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers that Motor Trend universal cell phone chargers bear a counterfeit UL Mark for the United States. The product has not been evaluated for safety by UL and is not eligible to bear the UL Mark.

On the packaging: Packaged in a red and black blister package. Company name on the package is "MOTOR TREND."

On the product: The charger has a red and black label on the front with the words "Motor Trend" on the front. The product also has a label on the back of the product with a counterfeit UL Mark and the following information:

                      TRAVEL CHARGER
                      INPUT: AC90V-250V
                      OUTPUT: DC5V-11V
                      CAUTION INDOOR USE ONLY
                      MADE IN CHINA

What You Should Do: UL recommends consumers stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase.
