EnergySolutions Signs 5-Year Contract With Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA)

EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE: ES) announced today it has signed a waste management agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The five-year $24 million contract provides waste management disposal services to the Sequoyah, Watts Bar and Browns Ferry nuclear power plants and the Western Area Radiological Lab.
"We appreciate the confidence of the Tennessee Valley Authority for EnergySolutions to safely process and dispose of its radioactive material," said Steve Creamer, CEO and Chairman of EnergySolutions. "By utilizing our facilities and technology, TVA can be assured this material is properly managed and safely disposed of."
The agreement is a follow-on for the previous five-year contract with TVA for similar services. EnergySolutions' Bear Creek facility in Tennessee will incinerate, volume reduce, compact and package materials for transportation and disposal.
EnergySolutions offers customers a full range of integrated services and solutions, including nuclear operations, characterization, decommissioning, decontamination, site closure, transportation, nuclear materials management, the safe, secure processing, recycling, and disposition of nuclear waste, and research and engineering services across the nuclear fuel cycle.
