Market Wire, June, 2008
Sage Software announced today general availability of Sage MAS 500 ERP 7.2, the latest version of the company's award-winning business management solution for mid-market to small-enterprise businesses. Sage MAS 500 is designed from the ground up using Microsoft® SQL Server and Visual Studio® technology, giving users maximum performance, value, and flexibility within a Microsoft computing environment. Version 7.2 includes full support for Microsoft Vista UAC, new Business Insights Dashboard and Data Import Manager modules, plus numerous additions that extend value, increase performance, enhance workflow and improve the overall user experience.
Sage MAS 500 is a highly scalable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application that automates and streamlines business management processes. Recognized for combining ease-of-use with powerful capabilities, Sage MAS 500 is ideal for manufacturing, distribution and other companies with complex accounting needs. Sage Software delivers extended value plus a very low total cost of ownership (TCO) with version 7.2 by leveraging Microsoft technology and an extensive network of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) that provide customized solutions for vertical industries.
New .NET Modules: Business Insights Dashboard & Data Import Manager
Sage MAS 500 includes two new modules developed with .NET Technology: the Business Insights Dashboard and the Data Import Manager. The Business Insights Dashboard is a browser-based, business intelligence module that provides single-click access to analytical and collaborative tools. The application enables users to create a personalized view of up-to-date sales statistics, key financial data, business metrics, industry news, and competitive intelligence, which deliver the vital information needed to better manage a business. Specialized key performance indicators also can be created by leveraging the Sage MAS 500 Software Development Kit.
The Data Import Manager uses a powerful mapping wizard to preserve data integrity while enabling businesses to easily import a variety of transactions into Sage MAS 500. The module is ideal for recurring imports from external systems and greatly simplifies system upgrades.
"The Business Insights Dashboard is a critical tool for CFOs and business managers who appreciate instant access to the key company information they find most useful," said Dan Isaacson, technician at Bennett/Porter & Associates, Inc., a Sage MAS 500 authorized business partner. "The Data Import Manager will be a significant value to our customers, because it provides a tool for users to import data from a file 'as is' instead of having to reformat that data to match Sage MAS 500."
Workflow Enhancements
Sage MAS 500 Office -- A leader in providing robust integration with the desktop productivity tools found in Microsoft Office, the Sage MAS 500 Office includes numerous workflow enhancements that provide users with even greater value. Most notably, Sage MAS 500 Office template creation and merge functions have been completely redesigned to leverage the powerful embedded features within Microsoft Office 2007. Sage MAS 500 Office has been implemented as a generic feature and is available for all data entry tasks.
Warehouse Automation -- Newly added features provide significant workflow improvements for both warehouse and office personnel. Warehouse Automation now includes support for pick by order, pick by shipment, automatic e-mail notifications to back office personnel, improved workflow options, and an expanded audit trail.
Project Accounting -- Enhancements support new billing options for Accounts Payable expenses, for Time & Materials and for Fixed Price Plus projects.
