Longfellow Benefits Named One of Boston's Top Five "Best Places to Work" by Boston Business Journal

Market Wire,  June, 2008

Longfellow Benefits, a Boston employee-benefits brokerage and consultant, today was named one of the Boston area's five best places to work in Boston Business Journal's annual ranking.

It won in the small-employer category, which it has been named to for the third year in a row.

"This shows we practice what we preach. We help our clients provide topnotch benefit packages for their employees, and we do the same for our own associates," said Joe Gray, Longfellow Benefits managing partner.

For example, the firm recently created a wellness program for its employees -- as it has for many of its clients.

But the award considers more than benefits. Employees of nominated companies completed a survey covering work environment, work-life balance, job satisfaction, advancement opportunities, management, compensation and benefits.

"Achieving the title of 'Best Place to Work' is something companies are very proud to achieve because it shows they care about their most important asset -- their employees," said Michael Olivieri, publisher of the Boston Business Journal.

"We also want to congratulate our clients who were also honored this morning: The Winter Wyman Cos., Solidworks Corp, Ahura Scientific, and Shawmut Design and Construction," Gray added.

Serving organizations in New England and nationally, Longfellow Benefits provides employee benefits, retirement plans and executive benefits. Its staff includes experts carrying top professional designations: Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), Licensed Insurance Advisor (LIA), Master of Business Administration, Taxation (MBA), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®).
