Hard Rock Band OTEP Headlines New West Coast Dates on the Circus of Democracy Tour

KOCH Records recording artist OTEP is set to bring its searing live show on the road once again! Headlining new west coast dates on the Circus of Democracy tour to promote "The Ascension," the band's latest and most acclaimed album, OTEP will release a new live DVD in early 2009 which will be filmed on select dates.

Otep Shamaya, the powerful singer and brainchild of the group, is making a name for herself outside of music. Singer, Activist, Actress, Writer. She has filmed segments for several top-rated TV shows, including HBO's "DEF POETRY," Bravo's "DATE MY EX" and most recently TLC's hit show "L.A. Ink." Otep is also one of the most searched celebrities on pop culture sites such as Dotspotter.com.

She continues to dominate MTV's Headbanger's Ball with her provocative new video for "Crooked Spoons," which features rising actresses Brittney Snow (American Dreams, Hairspray, John Tucker Must Die) and Candice Accola (Juno). Additionally, Shamaya has become a featured celebrity blogger for the MTV network, and her weekly blog continues to be one of the most popular features on the site.

Shamaya also finds time to be a vocal and committed activist for such causes as Equal Rights, Victims Rights, Darfur, Hurricane Katrina, Myanmar, Rock The Vote, PETA, RAINN, and All Shapes & Sizes.
