U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel Will Headline Impact '08 in Ohio Launch

The Center for U.S. Global Engagement will officially launch its Impact '08 in Ohio effort, a partnership with The Ohio State University's John Glenn School of Public Affairs and the Columbus Council on World Affairs, on June 23, 2008 with a luncheon and foreign policy discussion featuring U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE). The Impact '08 in Ohio's Advisory Committee urges the 2008 presidential candidates to incorporate greater investments in global development and diplomacy as critical tools in America's engagement with the world. The committee has more than 130 members, including U.S. Representatives David Hobson and Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher, the State Senate President and Minority Leader, the State House Speaker, Majority Leader and Minority Leader, the Chairmen of the Ohio Republican and Democratic Parties, Maj. Gen. Todd Stewart (USAF, Ret.), The Ohio State University President E. Gordon Gee, and a wide range of business, community, and faith leaders.
