ATIS Honors Telcordia for Contributions to Telecom Industry Advancement
Market Wire, June, 2008
For decades, Telcordia Technologies has paved the way for the evolution of modern communications, and development of new standards and technologies to solve the hardest and most complex communications problems. The latest recognition of this ability to lead comes with the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions' (ATIS) recent honoring of four Telcordia employees for providing valuable contributions to the successful completion of ATIS standards that meet the needs of the industry and who have demonstrated significant efforts to support acceptance and use of ATIS standards throughout the industry.
Dawn Kaplan, Principal Systems Engineer, Operations and Transformation Solutions, Telcordia, was presented with the 2008 Award for Leadership in Standards Development. Recognized for her role as Co-Chair of the ATIS Ordering and Billing Forum, Kaplan served as chief strategist for the development of the unified Modeling Approach Guiding Principles document which is currently sought after by other global Standards Development Organizations for the development of their XML standards.
Telcordia recipients of the 2008 ATIS Outstanding Contributions Award included Ron Roman, Senior Systems Engineers, Advanced Technology Solutions, for outstanding performance and lasting contributions as Vice-Chair of the Telecom Management Operations Committee and Ray Singh, Senior Systems Engineers, Advanced Technology Solutions, for valuable contributions to the completion of standards on next generation networking security and efforts on progressing the Identity Management (IdM) efforts. Adam Wertheimer, Network Engineer Professional, Operations and Transformations Solutions, was also recognized for valuable contributions to the completion of standards on network synchronization and timing.
"This recognition is well deserved by the ATIS committee members and leaders, and we thank Telcordia for their involvement and commitment to ATIS," said Susan Miller, ATIS President and CEO. "ATIS's accomplishments in the development of world-class standards would not be possible without the valuable contribution of time, effort and expertise from committee members and leaders like the individuals honored today."
The prestigious awards celebrate the important contributions of ATIS members to ATIS committees and forums. The awards honor several individuals who have consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to ATIS, its standards development programs and technical planning activities over the past year.
"Telcordia is looking to the future to identify technology gaps and complex problems that will arise for carriers globally, and inventing new technologies for the real world that will set a path to profitable growth," said Adam Drobot, President & CTO, Advanced Technology Solution, Telcordia. "These awards underscore Telcordia's commitment in developing and commercializing major technologies to enable communication service providers, government entities and enterprises to reduce their risk and time-to-market when deploying new technologies."
