Tizor Joins PCI Security Standards Council to Provide Industry Expertise and Help Enterprises Automate PCI DSS Compliance
Market Wire, June, 2008
Tizor systems, a leading provider of enterprise database monitoring and protection solutions for the data center today announced that it has joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a new participating organization. As a Participating Organization, Tizor will work with the Council to evolve the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) and other payment card data protection standards.
The PCI DSS, endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc., requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity. More information on the council and the standard can be found at www.pcisecuritystandards.org
Tizor has worked with brand name retailers, banks and processors to assess PCI data risk as well as automate data discovery, monitoring and protection. Using Tizor's Mantra solution, retailers have been able to identify where cardholder data is located throughout their organizations, quickly and easily create monitoring and security policies to address cardholder data protection, and automate PCI reporting. Tizor has helped these organizations effectively address the cardholder data risk profile of their organizations while saving them money, time and valuable personnel resources.
As a Participating Organization, Tizor will have access to the latest payment card security standards from the Council, be able to provide feedback on the standards and become part of a growing community that now includes more than 450 organizations. In an era of increasingly sophisticated attacks on systems, adhering to the PCI DSS represents an entity's best protection against data criminals. By joining as a Participating Organization, Tizor is adding its voice to the process.
"The PCI Security Standards Council is committed to helping everyone involved in the payment chain protect consumer payment data," said Bob Russo, General Manager of the PCI Security Standards Council. "By providing both technical expertise and the experience they have gained from working with retailers to help automate cardholder protection, Tizor is playing an active part in this important end goal."
"Merchants want to protect cardholder data and meet PCI requirements in an automated, easy to implement and cost effective way, but this requires a new way of looking at data security and compliance," said Prat Moghe, founder and CTO of Tizor. "We are happy to add our expertise to the PCI Security Standards Council and look forward to working with the other members to educate merchants on the latest technologies and best practices for achieving PCI compliance."
