Universal Detection Technology to Submit an Operational Requirements Document on Recommendation of the Department of Homeland Security

Universal Detection Technology ( www.udetection.com ) (OTCBB: UDTT) (FRANKFURT: PO8), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats and provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services, reported today that it is submitting an Operational Requirements Document (ORD) to the Department of Homeland Security based on the department's recommendation. By submitting an ORD, a company becomes eligible to apply for a partnership with the Department of Homeland Security through the SECURE Program to develop products and/or services.

The SECURE (System Efficacy through Commercialization, Utilization, Relevance and Evaluation) Program is an efficient and cost-effective program to foster cooperative "win-win" partnerships between the Department of Homeland Security and the Private Sector. The DHS will work with the Private Sector to develop products, technologies or services aligned with the needs of its Operating Components and First Responder communities.

Private Sector entities possessing technologies or products aligned to these requirements can use this valuable information to generate a business case and develop a fully deployable product or service. The Department will assure that the product or service has demonstrated performance that meets a given Private Sector entity's published specifications through our review of third-party independent testing data, provided by the Private Sector entity. This enables the Private Sector, through the free market system, to develop products and services that capture significant revenue opportunities.
