Market Wire, June, 2008
Antenna Software, delivering real business mobility to the world's most demanding enterprises, today announced that Nucleus Research selected DIRECTV, Inc. as a 2008 Technology ROI Award recipient for its implementation of Antenna's AMPower(TM) SALES solution. The mobile CRM solution provides members of the DIRECTV sales force with real-time access to business-critical customer and product information stored within Oracle's CRM On Demand database. The application runs on BlackBerry® 8700c, 8800 and Pearl smartphones with data connectivity powered by the AT&T wireless network. Nucleus Research's award recognizes companies whose skillful deployment of IT solutions has produced a positive, bottom-line financial return on investment (ROI).
"DIRECTV is a great example of an organization that aligned its IT investments to business goals, and as a result, realized improved productivity and the ability to sell more intelligently," Marc Songini, senior analyst, Nucleus Research.
Companies that receive the Technology ROI Award demonstrate the link between IT strategy and business goals. For Antenna Software, this meant helping DIRECTV outfit its national sales force with an easy, secure way to access vital sales information while in the field. The implementation of AMPower SALES resulted in a 432 percent ROI and full project payback within 2.6 months, as determined by Nucleus Research.
"Winning this award is such an honor because our mobile CRM solution was a key part in helping us continuously improve customer satisfaction," said Erik Walters, program manager, business solutions, DIRECTV. "Not only did we experience a tremendous ROI with Antenna's mobile technology, but we also significantly improved sales efficiency, productivity and customer responsiveness in the field."
"By mobilizing key Oracle data and processes, DIRECTV has made Oracle CRM On Demand an indispensable part of every sales rep's day," said Anthony Lye, senior vice president, Oracle CRM. "We are delighted with what DIRECTV has achieved to date and pleased to be part of this successful mobile deployment with our partner Antenna."
"We congratulate DIRECTV for fully embracing mobile and wireless technologies to better meet the needs of its customers and optimize its business practices," said Jim Somers, vice president of marketing, Antenna Software. "As this award clearly illustrates, using AMPower SALES, which is built on the Antenna Mobility Platform(TM), provided the DIRECTV sales team with real-time, actionable information in the field, leading to significant, quantifiable business benefits."
