Hearst Business Media and China Joint Venture Partner IDG Announce Acquisition of ee365.cn
Market Wire, July, 2008
Hearst Business Media's Electronics Group, the largest publisher of product information to the electronics industry, along with joint venture partner China's Publishing House of Electronic Industry (PHEI), and the International Data Group (IDG) today announced they have purchased ee365.cn [ www.ee365.cn ], a news and technology website for Chinese engineers. The news was announced by William Barron, vice president & publishing director, Hearst Business Media's Electronics Group, and Hugo Shong, president of IDG Asia/China.
Established in June 2006, ee365.cn's editorial content consists of a winning blend of up-to-date business news, technical articles on electronic design and applications and new product information. In addition, ee365.cn provides tens of thousands of technical articles, classified into 21 technical channels based on the industrial segmentation, such as Embedded Systems, Power, Test & Measurement, Analog, Wireless and more.
Business related to ee365.cn will be managed as part of a group with sister properties, Electronic Products China (EPC), Semiconductor Applications and 21IC.com, China's no. 1 site for electronic engineers, led by Executive Publisher Daphne Liu and Executive Editor Qingchun (Chuck) Guo.
"China is the world's fastest-growing market for companies selling semiconductors and components. Hearst Business Media & IDG believe the China market will continue to increase in importance in the years to come and the addition of ee365.cn to our portfolio dramatically broadens the JV's ability to serve the target audience of engineers as well as the advertisers trying to reach them. This acquisition brings a talented development team led by founder Gao Feng. Although it will be business as usual for the next several months, over time we fully intend to meld the best of ee365.cn into 21IC.com to strengthen and extend our leadership position serving EEs in China," said William Barron of Hearst Business Media.
