Winpak Announces the Acquisition of Walsroder Packaging LLC, a Subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company

Winpak (TSX: WPK) is pleased to announce that it has concluded an agreement, effective June 30, 2008, whereby Winpak will acquire the film packaging business of Walsroder Packaging LLC, a subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company.

Walsroder Packaging is based in Willowbrook, Illinois and is a well-known converter and distributor of flexible plastic rollstock packaging to the United States food industry. The acquisition will supplement Winpak's extensive sales network and provide an additional channel to distribute Winpak's diverse product range.

Winpak Ltd. manufactures and distributes high-quality packaging materials and related packaging machines. The Company's products are used primarily for the protection of perishable foods, beverages, and in health care applications.
