Urban Trend Names Former Sharper Image Operations Manager and Engineering Consultant Gordon Tong to Position of Manager of Product Development

Urban Trend, a consumer products design and development company, has expanded its product development team naming Gordon Tong as Urban Trend's Manager of Product Development. Gordon Tong was formerly the Operations Manager and Engineering Consultant for The Sharper Image from 2002 - 2008.

As an internationally recognized electrical engineer and product development specialist, Gordon Tong brings more than 10 years of electrical engineering, product development, management, and manufacturing skills to Urban Trend. "His strong management and product development experience will help Urban Trend grow our electronic and kitchen accessory line as we continue our global expansion," according to Robert Kushner, Managing Director of Urban Trend.

Gordon Tong served as Operations Manager and Engineering Consultant for The Sharper Image from 2002 - 2008, where he was responsible for project planning and production in China from design phase through mass production. Gordon Tong consulted on the development of over 80% of Sharper Image products. He developed a wide range of products from air purifiers, robotics, Apple iPod docking stations and Apple ZIP CONNECT. Gordon Tong started his career as a Project Manager for Techno Mind, an internationally recognized product development company, serving clients such as Mattel, Brookstone and Wowwee.
