AARP & NAIFA to Speak at Upcoming "Senior Protection" Insurance Compliance Best Practices Workshop
Market Wire, July, 2008
AARP will kickoff the upcoming IMSA Compliance Best Practices Workshop in Scottsdale, AZ on September 10, 2008 with a keynote address about the focus of the 3-day workshop: senior protection.
"An agent's ability to sell appropriate insurance products to seniors begins with the practices of the company that agent represents," said AARP Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Kevin Donnellan. "AARP applauds IMSA's efforts to empower those companies with an ethical approach when selling to seniors, and we are pleased to support this important industry event."
Cliff Wilson, Chair-Elect of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), will also speak at the event. "The professionals in our industry work hard to earn the trust and confidence of our clients," said Wilson. "At NAIFA, we are committed to promoting the most stringent standards of ethical practice, and are excited for the opportunity to be associated with events like IMSA's Best Practices Workshop."
The Insurance Marketplace Standards Association (IMSA), whose qualified companies represent the industry's benchmark of excellence in ethical business practices regarding the advertising, sales, and service of annuities and other life insurance products, will enable workshop participants to interact with their industry colleagues and regulators, as well as exchange ideas and best practices on current compliance issues.
While ethical sales to seniors are of current concern, IMSA emphasizes high, verifiable standards of ethics excellence for all consumers, who, regardless of age, deserve to be treated fairly.
