Market Wire, July, 2008
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The international character of the renewable energy industry is illustrated by a project to develop a 1,650-megawatt portfolio of wind farms in China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. The project was launched by Arcapita Bank (Manama, Bahrain), an international investment corporation, in a joint venture with Singapore-based Colossus Holdings, the holding company of the Tanti Group, an Indian conglomerate. The $2 billion project includes the purchase of China's Honiton Energy Holdings. The new joint venture will bring capital and expertise to the project through the Tanti Group, which owns 66% of Suzlon Energy (BOM:532667) (Pune, India), a leading global wind turbine supplier.
