Weiss Capital Management Names Director of Research and Client Communications
Market Wire, July, 2008
Weiss Capital Management, Inc. (WCM), an independent Registered Investment Adviser, announced today that it has retained industry expert Mike Burnick as its new Director of Research and Client Communications.
Formerly Senior Editor and Director of Research for the Sovereign Society, a membership-only investment research firm headquartered in Delray Beach, Fla., Burnick will now lead Weiss Capital Management's investment research and client communications efforts. Burnick's regular commentaries and reports will now offer prospective and current Weiss Capital Management clients with in-depth industry information and analysis.
"As investors struggle to cope with the first bear market in many years, there has never been a better time to communicate with current and prospective clients at Weiss Capital Management," said Burnick.
"While the firm has cultivated key relationships and a number of successes over time -- including a bear market strategy that posted 40% gains from inception (December 31, 2000) through the end of the last bear market (March 31, 2003), media and the investment community are only recently taking notice of our innovative and timely wealth management strategies."
An investment professional for the past 20 years, Burnick has appeared on numerous television and radio networks, including CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg and others. A former investment advisor, portfolio manager, securities analyst and investment editor, Burnick has hosted his own investment radio program and edited numerous financial newsletters with international distributions, including Global Market Investor, a Sovereign Society publication.
Burnick currently specializes in global financial markets and emerging investment trends worldwide and is the founder and former owner/operator of Jupiter Capital Management, an investment consulting firm. Burnick holds a B.S. in Finance and Management from Stetson University.
