Enablence's FTTx Network Products Accepted by US Government Financing for Rural Communities
Market Wire, July, 2008
Enablence Technologies (TSX VENTURE: ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) equipment for residential and business services, today announced that it has received U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service (USDA RUS) acceptance for the TRIDENT7 Optical Line Terminals and Optical Network Terminals for deployment under the Rural Development Broadband Loan program.
The USDA RUS Broadband Access Loan program provides loans for funding the costs of construction, improvement, and acquisition of facilities to provide broadband service to eligible rural communities of up to 20,000 homes. Effective immediately, this acceptance covers both standards supported by TRIDENT7, ITU G.984.1-4 GPON and IEEE 802.3 GEPON.

"This acceptance by the USDA further reaffirms that Enablence's products meet the various requirements for full FTTP deployments" says Arvind Chhatbar, CEO of Enablence.
Network operators can now utilize USDA RUS broadband funding to serve communities with TRIDENT7 systems which deliver high-speed Internet, digital voice, radio frequency (RF) and internet protocol based digital (IP) television.
"The TRIDENT7 has been deployed in revenue-generating service environments since May 2006 with over 80 networks in operation. TRIDENT7 is the only optical access platform in the industry that supports both prevalent standards, GPON and GEPON. As such, we are a complete and proven solution for network operators to deploy networks utilizing USDA RUS Broadband Access Loan funding." says Tom Tighe, President of Enablence's FTTx Networks Division.
