Parvus to Supply AT&T Government Solutions With Vehicle Interface Computer for U.S. Army OneTESS War Game Simulation System
Market Wire, August, 2008
Parvus Corporation announced that AT&T Government Solutions, Inc. has contracted with Parvus to supply the Vehicle Interface Control Unit (VICU) for the U.S. Army's next generation tactical engagement simulation system. Parvus has received an initial order worth approximately $200,000 for 14 pre-production units. Initial operational capabilities for the One Tactical Engagement Simulation System (OneTESS), deployed at Army training centers, are planned for fiscal 2008 for use on Bradley M2/M3A3, Abrams M1A2 SEP and M109A6 SP Paladin Vehicles.
The VICU component of the OneTESS program is based on Parvus' Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) processor platform, the DuraCORĀ® 810, integrated with optional MIL-STD-1553 interfaces from Data Device Corporation ( DDC ). The modular DuraCOR 810 is a rugged open-architecture solution for military/civil Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) applications. It is designed to survive harsh mobile environmental conditions experienced under MIL-STD-810F, including extreme temperatures, shock/vibration, and ingress, as well as power requirements of MIL-STD-1275 and MIL-STD-704.
The Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation ( PEO STRI ) previously announced a contract award to AT&T Government Solutions, Inc. for Phases II and III of OneTESS worth approximately $94 million. The Army's OneTESS has the capability to support up to brigade-level, scaleable to theater-level, training and testing exercises. OneTESS will provide a live combined arm Force-on-Force (FOF) and Force-on-Target (FOT) training that support all Army tactical missions, and crosses all battlefield operating systems at homestation, Maneuver Combat Training Centers, test ranges, and deployed sites. OneTESS is a component of the Army's interoperable, systems-of-systems, live-virtual-constructive operational architecture, simulating combat realism for live players.
