Market Wire, September, 2008
A "Beyond Home Energy Audits with Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®" Southeastern Regional Workshop for Program Sponsors will be presented on September 16-17, 2008 at the Crown Plaza hotel in Orlando, Florida. To learn more, visit www.hpwes.org .
The workshop is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and co-hosted by Orlando Utilities Commission with Florida Municipal Electric Association, and Florida Electric Cooperatives Association. Opening and closing lunches are provided by Progress Energy Florida. Additional support is provided by Conservation Services Group with Building Performance Institute, Electric & Gas Industries Association, Apogee Interactive, Energy Finance Solutions, and Market Development Group.
The U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are partnering with the host and sponsor organizations as they seek to enhance support to achieve transformation of the existing home improvement marketplace in the Southeast region. The workshop will provide a forum for utilities, state energy offices and other energy-related organizations to network and learn in a collaborative environment about the key program design aspects necessary to establish a successful Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program.
Learn how program sponsors in 20 states are beginning to transform the home improvement marketplace beyond free "clipboard" home energy audits and single-measure rebates with a whole-house approach that is poised for comprehensive, integrated market transformation of the existing home improvement marketplace.
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® is a national program from the U.S. EPA and U.S. DOE that encourages a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving energy efficiency and comfort at home, while helping to protect the environment.
All Registrants will receive an updated edition of the "Home Performance Industry Compendium" -- an online snapshot of key home performance industry programs, allies and resources for prospective program sponsors along with a bibliography of published papers, presentations, proceedings and research studies regarding home performance topics.
This workshop is intended for program designers with Southeastern U.S. energy utilities of all sizes as well as program design allies.
