Defiance Security Software Suite 4.5 Released
Market Wire, September, 2008
Protegrity Corporation , a leading provider of Data Security Management solutions, today released Defiance Security Software Suite 4.5 , the latest version of its award-winning data protection solution.
Building on its market leading platform support, Protegrity broadened its customer proven mainframe data protection capabilities with a new Application Protector and command line File Protector for z/OS . Protegrity's Defiance Data Protection System provides application, database, and file level encryption for the mainframe by leveraging built in cryptographic hardware. This eliminates any need to burden network resources with moving data off the system for encryption and decryption.
In addition, Protegrity simplified enterprise data security management with new auto-configuration and cluster deployment options for its award-winning Defiance Threat Management System web application firewall .
"The release of Defiance Security Suite 4.5 strengthens our commitment to enterprise data security management with new web application firewall management options and by expanding Protegrity's market tested data protection solution to support even more mainframe data types," said Gordon Rapkin, CEO of Protegrity. "Like all other sensitive data, data on the mainframe is subject to security regulations like the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard . Protegrity is extending its customers ability to achieve both real security and compliance by providing broad protection for the enormous amount of data found on the mainframe."
The Defiance Suite is comprised of the Enterprise Security Administrator , the Defiance Threat Management System web application firewall, and the Defiance Data Protection System for encryption. A broad range of Application Protectors, Database Protectors, and File Protectors make up the Defiance Data Protection System.
New and enhanced functionality in the Defiance Security Suite includes:
-- Expanded platform support for the mainframe with a new Application Protector and command line File Protector for z/OS
-- Extended web application firewall management with application path and security policy auto-configuration and cluster deployment
-- Broadened Linux platform support with new File Protectors for RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 and SuSE Linux ES 10
-- Vastly increased performance for the Database Protector for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008
Designed to protect data, protect web applications, and manage data security, Defiance Security Suite is a true enterprise solution combining central management of security policy, key management, and alerting and reporting with distributed protection of data as it flows across disparate systems. Encryption, web application firewall, and enterprise security administration solutions enable organizations to achieve security and compliance while balancing operational requirements with the risk of data loss.
