352 Media Group Helps Make Health Information More Accessible at WellZone.org
Market Wire, September, 2008
352 Media Group, an interactive Web design company , put its Web development expertise to work on the Wellness Information Zone (WIZ) Website at www.WellZone.org -- a health information hub that uses everyday language for everyday people. 352 Media Group completely redesigned the Website and added interactive components to make it easier to navigate.
Originally launched in 2006, WIZ was developed through a partnership between the Humana Foundation and Libraries for the Future, in an effort to make important, accurate health information more accessible to the general American public.
"Research has shown that half of all American adults find health information difficult to fully comprehend," says Virginia Judd, executive director of The Humana Foundation. "WellZone.org is a place where anyone, even folks with low literacy levels, can find easy-to-understand, up-to-date health information."
"Our major goal for WellZone.org was to create a clean design, easy for anyone to navigate," says Peter VanRysdam, vice president of marketing at 352 Media Group. "In addition to a new layout, we integrated a Web video host, and are now able to literally tell people where to go on the Website to find the information they're looking for."
Based on the belief that libraries are uniquely positioned community resources, the WIZ project is being piloted in eight Atlanta-area libraries, where library employees and Humana Foundation associates are trained to provide health information to community members.
