Burton Group's New Research License Model Helping IT Organizations Maximize Analyst Firm Value in Tough Economy
Market Wire, September, 2008
Burton Group , a research and consulting firm focused on in-depth analysis of enterprise technologies, projects more than half of its current clients will adopt its new IT1 research license model in 2009.
Recently launched in May 2008, Burton Group IT1 offers a complete spectrum of research and advisory tools via a simplified licensing model which includes company-wide access to all of the firm's research coverage areas and unlimited analyst dialogues. This approach is unique compared to traditional analyst firm pricing models that limit access by selling individual seat licenses.
Burton Group's research and advice helps Fortune 500 and Global 2,000 organizations make smart IT decisions. The company's success with its new pricing model reflects the current trend among enterprise IT to seek practical insight that benefits the entire organization.
"Burton Group IT1 was introduced at a time when IT organizations are looking for efficiency," says Chris Howard, VP and research director for Burton Group. "The role of IT in this downturn is more like a trusted mechanic: one who works magic on your aging vehicle without fleecing you."
Burton Group's client base is comprised of 85% percent enterprise IT end-user organizations in aerospace, automotive, financial services, education, energy, government, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and retail. Burton Group projects more than half of its current clients will adopt its new IT1 research license model in 2009.
According to a recent blog post from Lighthouse Analyst Relations , "Burton Group's service reflects both the ongoing widening of its portfolio and a growing focus on providing tools and methodologies to buyers. Pricing will be a major plus-point for Burton, since its enterprise-wide licenses and unlimited analysts access look like great value when stacked up against Gartner's single-seat model. Previously known for infrastructure and security, Burton's coverage now spans 40 topic areas, making it more attractive as a first port of call for end-user clients."
