SEMI Names Sathya Prasad President of SEMI India

SEMI today announced the appointment of Sathya Prasad to the position of president of SEMI India effective immediately. Prasad assumes full responsibility for SEMI operations in India and will oversee development of the association's programs, committees, products and services in the region. He is responsible for relationships with SEMI members as well as industry, government, academia and other local associations in India. Additionally, he is charged with supporting SEMI members from all regions that have interests in India's burgeoning microelectronic and photovoltaic manufacturing supply chains.
"SEMI members have expressed increasing interest in the developing supply chain for advanced manufacturing industries in India and we are pleased to respond with an expanded presence and strong local leadership," said Stanley T. Myers, president and CEO of SEMI. "I am pleased to name Sathya Prasad as president of SEMI India and believe that his strong domain expertise and industry experience will be a tremendous asset for SEMI members and the advancement of the supply chain in the region."

Prasad bring over 16 years' experience to SEMI. He has a diverse set of experiences incorporating technical engineering and strategic marketing for high-value, high-complexity semiconductor products with industry bellwethers Intel and Cadence Design Systems.
Prior to joining SEMI, Prasad was the director of Strategic Planning at Cadence Design Systems in India. Before that, he spent 13 years at Intel in various engineering and technical marketing leadership roles. Prasad holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications from Bangalore University, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.
