Rendell and Lehman to Represent Obama and McCain at Impact '08 Forum

Who & What: On Wednesday, October 22, 2008, prominent representatives from both presidential campaigns will address the Center for U.S. Global Engagement's Impact '08 in Pennsylvania forum following a non-partisan panel discussion with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell will speak on behalf of Sen. Barack Obama and former Navy Secretary and 9/11 Commission member John Lehman will speak on behalf of Sen. John McCain. The evening's program will be moderated by CNN Special Correspondent Frank Sesno and will include welcoming remarks by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and University of Pennsylvania President Dr. Amy Gutmann. More than 700 business, community and student leaders are expected to attend the event, which will be webcast live at www.usglobalengagement.org .

The Impact '08: Building a Better, Safer World initiative urges the 2008 presidential candidates to incorporate greater investments in global development and diplomacy as critical tools in America's engagement with the world. Impact '08 in Pennsylvania is a partnership with the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School for Communication, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia. The Impact '08 in Pennsylvania Advisory Committee is co-chaired by Governor Rendell and former Governor Tom Ridge and includes more than 50 prominent business, community, and faith leaders.
