Media Advisory - Government of Canada Professionals Demonstrate

Hundreds of professional employees employed by the government of Canada will demonstrate in front of the Revenue Canada Agency offices in Halifax to denounce their employer's inertia at the bargaining table. These professionals, many of whom have been without a contract for over a year, will send a clear message to their employer, Prime Minister Harper and his Conservative minority government, that it's time for action and meaningful bargaining.
When: Friday, October 24, 2008 at noon (Halifax)
Where: 1557 Hollis Avenue, Halifax, in front of the
Canada Revenue Agency offices.
The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada represents 55,000
professionals and scientists of whom 1,555 work in the Halifax area for a total of 4,200 in PIPSC members in the Atlantic Region.
