Adastra President Wins Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of Year(R) 2008 Award
Market Wire, October, 2008
Adastra Group is pleased to announce that its president, Dr. Jan Mrazek, has won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2008 Award in the Technology category for the Ontario region.
Fifty finalists were selected from hundreds of applications submitted from all across Ontario. This award is presented to business leaders who have demonstrated innovation, personal integrity, strategic direction, financial performance and, of course, entrepreneurial spirit. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards are the pre-eminent awards in Canadian business.
In 2000, Dr. Mrazek founded Adastra Group with his two partners, then co-owners of the Czech subsidiary of Speedware, a Canadian Company. Adastra Group has since become a 70 million dollar company employing over 600 people, serving 15 countries worldwide with headquarters in Toronto and offices in London, Frankfurt, Prague, Bratislava, and Sofia. Adastra has also been recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for three years in a row.
"It is a tremendous honour to be named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year," said Dr. Mrazek. "This award is a reflection not only on me, but on my two partners, our management team and all Adastra employees that have worked by my side these past eight years to help the company achieve the great success it has."
