Sage Software Nonprofit Solutions Awards Three Unrestricted Grants to Nonprofits in Celebration of Customer Appreciation Month

Market Wire, October, 2008

Sage Software today announced that its Nonprofit Solutions business has awarded three unrestricted grants to customers as part of its annual Customer Appreciation Month. PrairieStar Health Center, Inc. in Hutchinson, Kan., Temple University in Philadelphia, and Central Connecticut Coast YMCA in New Haven, Conn. each received the grants after entering and winning a sweepstakes drawing. More than 500 Nonprofit Solutions customers entered the sweepstakes.

PrairieStar Health Center was established in 1995, in response to the community-wide need for medical services for individuals unable to access private health care due to financial or other reasons. The organization provides medical and dental care on a sliding scale, based on annual income and family size.

"Every dollar we save is spent on others, so winning this award will allow us to serve the medical needs of even more Hutchinson area residents," said Linda Gronewaller, CFO for PrairieStar Health Center. "We will use the Customer Appreciation funds to purchase a printer/scanner, which will allow us to scan accounts payable invoices directly into Sage MIP Fund Accounting."

Founded in 1884 by Dr. Russell Conwell, Temple College became Temple University in 1907. As a comprehensive public research university, Temple's 34,000 students can choose from 8 campuses and 300 academic degree programs. The university used its award to fund two exceptional students who are currently working with its computer services department under its work-study program. In addition to being full-time students and working, both scholarship recipients are involved with community activities.

"We are delighted to reward two of our deserving, hard-working students," said Stuart Sullivan, Temple's senior vice president for Institutional Advancement. "Technology investments have earned Temple recognition as one of the nation's most connected campuses. It's only fitting that Sage Software's generous gift will permit our students to incorporate real-world, cutting-edge information technology experiences into their Temple education."

Serving all people from 20 different towns and cities surrounding the Bridgeport and New Haven areas, the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA strives to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. The organization operates 10 YMCA branches in Greater New Haven and Greater Bridgeport, plus YMCA Camp Hi-Rock, a 1,000 acre residential & day camp in Mt. Washington, Mass., and will use the Sage Software grant money to fund programming.
