Real Issues - Real Votes - Real Fun: Vote for America's Next Winner, Elect Best Video in the Adirondack Park

Market Wire, November, 2008

Vote now for the Grand Prize Winner of the Adirondack Video Contest and watch dozens more video clips. Hear loon calls, experience hiking up 4,714-foot Mount Colden, enjoy a summer boating vacation and one-year on a pristine wilderness lake . The Adirondack Regional Tourism Council announces four finalists in the "My Places in the Adirondacks" video contest and now it's up to you.

The polls are open through November 21, 2008 at www.VisitAdirondacks.com , where you, the all-important voter, will decide who wins this contest. Choose from finalists in four categories: Recreation, Wildlife & Pets, Scenic Beauty and Friends & Family. Online voting determines which one of the four finalists becomes the overall Grand Prize winner to receive GORE-TEX gloves, footwear and hats valued at $500.

Joye C, contest finalist in the Wildlife & Pets category with " Loon Family ," had to be patient while capturing her playful footage. "We followed this loon family all across the lake... (we) finally got footage of the mother and baby, then daddy. Watch the baby bump daddy in the butt!" she writes.

In the Family and Friends category, finalist Pat M.'s video of "The Lake" captures the essence of summering on an Adirondack Lake -- and the thrill of historical and military re-enactment at Fort Ticonderoga.

Richard M.'s artistic eye filmed Paradox Lake in all its permutations for one full year. The result is the Scenic Beauty finalist video, "Adirondack Lake - One Year."

In the Recreation category, Brad S.'s video "The Hike" is set to music by Ennio Morricone, and takes the viewer on a misty journey up Colden Mountain, one of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks.

Vote for the one Grand Prize winning video from our four finalists. You and your friends may vote for your favorite now through November 21, 2008.
