WorldWinner and IWON Sign Deal to Deliver Skill Games to Sweepstakes Players
Market Wire, December, 2008
WorldWinner ( www.worldwinner.com ), a GSN-affiliated company and the leader in online game competitions, today announced an agreement with IWON, a games and sweepstakes destination site, in which IWON ( www.iwon.com ) will provide its players with WorldWinner cash competitions. IWON players will also be able to enjoy their favorite on-air games online by playing Flash versions of GSN's most popular game show titles.
IWON's members currently win cash and merchandise prizes on an instant, daily, weekly or monthly basis. With the addition of WorldWinner's cash competitions, members will be able to compete against other game lovers in popular skill games including Bejeweled 2, SCRABBLE® Cubes, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud and Cubis for immediate cash rewards. Players will also have access to free Flash games, which are currently only available on GSN.com (a site powered by WorldWinner).
"This partnership is significant for both parties, in part because IWON boasts more than three million members who thrive on the sweepstakes model and are accustomed to playing games and winning prizes. We predict a heavy adoption of those players to our cash tournament model," said Peter Blacklow, president of WorldWinner. "We look forward to extending IWON's consumer experience and are thrilled to bring our online cash competitions to this new audience of game enthusiasts."
"Working with WorldWinner and GSN gives IWON and our players access to a wide range of cross-platform entertainment possibilities," said Timothy Allen, vice president of product management at IAC Consumer Applications and Portals, owners of IWON. "We are confident that our members will benefit from the agreement with more opportunities to play and win, and that they'll enjoy WorldWinner's cash competitions and the opportunity to participate in GSN's online games."
