VistaPrint Employees Work to Help Charities Around the Globe
Market Wire, February, 2009
VistaPrint Limited (NASDAQ: VPRT), the small business marketing company, today announced that its employees from around the globe worked hard to raise money and goods for various charities during the 2008 holiday season. In its offices in Lexington, Massachusetts, Barcelona, Spain, and Windsor, Ontario, VistaPrint employees generated over $12,000 in cash donations along with a number of goods, like toys and coats for local charities.
As they do each year, VistaPrint employees take it upon themselves to do what they can to support local charities in a number of different ways. For example, employees in the company's Lexington location put together a holiday charity raffle, with employees donating various prizes and gifts, including a tooth whitening system, orchestra tickets and an hour-long salsa lesson. The proceeds from the raffle generated nearly $9,000 for the Greater Boston Food Bank, which distributes approximately 30 million pounds of food and grocery products annually to more than 600 hunger-relief agencies in a dedicated partnership to end hunger in eastern Massachusetts.
"As a company, VistaPrint has been working with charitable organizations to help them raise money and visibility for years, but charity work is also something that our employees take upon themselves and do very well," said Austin Cooke, VistaPrint's vice president of Human Resources. "This year was no different, and certainly the results speak for themselves with regard to our holiday efforts. Our employees certainly put their best foot forward and touched a lot of lives this season."
At other global locations, employees made a difference in their community as well. In the company's Barcelona office, employees also held a raffle to help raise money for the Arrels Fundacio, which works to help the homeless in Barcelona. At the company's production facility in Windsor, employees worked to get donations of coats and toys for the Toys for Tots Foundation, as well as Coats for Kids. They also held an internal fund raiser which helped generate money for the Downtown Mission homeless shelter in Windsor.
