Action Toys Inc. Adds Distributor for Great Britain
Market Wire, April, 2009
Bob Muniz, President of Action Toys Inc. (NASDAQ: APII), announced today a new agreement for distribution of products into Great Britain. Treasure Trove has been a customer of the Action Toys Space Voyagers brand in the past, but has now agreed to expand their offering of Action Toys' products throughout Great Britain. "We are pleased to announce an expansion of our international sales activity. Treasure Trove has been a reliable and important client of one major brand in the past. Our new agreement affords both firms the chance to build revenues and profitable growth. The initial sales shipment began this week. Action Products International, Inc. expects significant sales activity beyond this initial agreement, so look for expanded activity in Great Britain as a result. The program began with a shipment of inventory from the Action Toys, Inc. distribution center in Florida. Moving forward, both firms are looking at the company providing large purchases of product directly from our factories abroad. This is our first announcement regarding international sales, though we are already in talks in several other countries. In addition, we are in the early stages of discussion with distribution prospects in Asia, Africa, Europe, Scandinavia and South America. Our long-term goal is to truly expand Action Toys brands on a world-wide basis; while building short-term sales revenues here in the U.S with our existing distribution network."
Action Toys Inc. continues to make sales progress since the new management took over operations in mid-March. April sales appear to be setting a pace that exceeds the earlier months of 2009. Said Muniz, "Our sales reps and our retail partners have responded to our efforts to re-organize. We have streamlined sales programs, simplified ordering processes and generally made it easier to do business with us. We are working diligently to re-build cash flow and re-inventory areas of the brands where we have been challenged. Forecasts from customers are positive and are providing excellent data for us to accurately forecast inventory needs for the all-important third and fourth quarters."
Initial forecasts suggested that the company would meet its new realistic goals for April sales. Early returns indicate that the company is on track to meet or exceed that number. While still not at the level of 2008 sales, the upward trend and increased activity suggest that sales in upcoming months will begin to exceed 2008 levels, according to Muniz.
