Plymouth Rock Assurance Expands Free eReminder Service to All Massachusetts Drivers

Market Wire, May, 2009

Plymouth Rock Assurance , a leading New England auto insurance company, today announced a new program to offer all Massachusetts drivers, even those not insured by Plymouth Rock, the opportunity to receive free email reminders 30 days before their license renewals, registration renewals and annual auto inspection. This program, called the MYLES(SM) eReminder Service, is an expansion of Plymouth Rock's successful eServices email reminder program, which previously was available only to Plymouth Rock customers. These reminders are particularly valuable now that the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is no longer mailing reminders of license renewal dates to Massachusetts drivers.

Plymouth Rock also recognizes that it is important to the safety of Massachusetts residents that drivers renew their licenses and registrations on time as well as bring their cars in for the annual safety inspection on time. Moreover, missing any of these important deadlines could result in significant inconvenience and expense to drivers. For example, driving with an expired inspection sticker results in a fine and may also result in a surcharge on one's insurance premium that could stay in effect for several years. Providing drivers with free email reminders is a simple way to help them remember these important dates, thereby promoting public safety and helping consumers avoid the potential for unwanted expenses and inconvenience. Since the program's inception in 2008, thousands of Plymouth Rock customers have received email notifications and many have likely avoided fines and increased insurance costs as a result.

"This is a win-win for everyone involved," said Hal Belodoff, President of Plymouth Rock. "Consumers benefit by avoiding the potential for fines and increased insurance costs, while the Commonwealth benefits because the timely renewal of driver's licenses, vehicle registrations and inspections promotes public safety and allows police to spend more time on other critical public safety concerns. Ultimately, the MYLES eReminder Service will make the life of every driver a little easier. That is a significant part of Plymouth Rock's corporate mission."

As a public service to all Massachusetts drivers, The MYLES eReminder Service is being kicked-off with a one million piece email campaign to drivers across the Commonwealth this week. Over the next few months, Plymouth Rock hopes to enroll a significant number of drivers in the program. Any Massachusetts driver can sign up for the MYLES eReminder Service by visiting MYLESereminder.prac.com . All that is required to enroll is a valid Massachusetts driver's license and an email address.
