Green Hills Software to Showcase Secure Guest Operating System Virtualization on Platform for Secure Networking
Market Wire, May, 2009
Interop - Green Hills Software, Inc., the world leader in certified safe and secure real-time operating systems (RTOS), will be holding private demonstrations of its secure guest OS virtualization architecture in combination with the Green Hills GateD® Layer 3 routing and Layer 2 switching software.
Secure Virtualization Architecture (SVA)
Green Hills Software's processor-independent approach to system virtualization enables a complete guest operating system and its applications' ecosystem to securely and seamlessly coexist with the performance, reliability-critical, and real-time portions of the networking devices -- all on a single general purpose microprocessor. System availability is increased by eliminating non-critical application failures or corruption in the guest operating system by compromising the critical real-time packet traffic for applications and services running on the INTEGRITY ® RTOS.
INTEGRITY, the world's first Common Criteria EAL6 certified operating system technology, assures high availability and secure isolation between networking subsystems. The INTEGRITY advanced security architecture prevents denial-of-service attacks while guaranteeing optimal real-time performance for packet processing applications.
Demonstration information:
When: Tuesday and Wednesday (May 19-20, 2009) 9a.m. - 5p.m. PDT
Where: Mandalay Bay Hotel - Las Vegas, NV
What: Secure Virtualization Demonstration
Green Hills Software will demonstrate the application of its Platform for Secure Networking on a standard reference design -- the Fulcrum Microsystems "Vegas" 48-port 1-Gigabit Ethernet switch chip reference system. The Vegas reference platform consists of the Green Hills Platform for Secure Networking, including INTEGRITY, secure guest OS virtualization, GHNet IPv4/v6 routing stack, and GateD® -- the industry's benchmark solution for commercial-grade routing and switching software. Using Green Hills Software's secure virtualization architecture, a standard Linux operating system will execute on the Freescale MPC8548 general purpose processor of the Fulcrum reference platform, providing system management functionality and other services. Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY RTOS provides the secure isolation of the Linux environment from the real-time routing and packet processing functions, which execute as native INTEGRITY applications on the same general purpose processor. In addition, the ultra-fast interprocess communications (IPC) of the INTEGRITY RTOS enable the Linux and INTEGRITY applications to rapidly exchange management information.
To attend: call or email Karen McConnell ( 1 734-222-1644, kmcconnell@ghs.com ) to confirm available meeting times and to get details on the Mandalay Bay suite number and location.
