Market Wire, May, 2009
Evernote , a multi-platform product designed to allow users to easily capture and search for personal information in any environment, today announced the availability of its native application for BlackBerry® smartphones. The highly anticipated Evernote application for BlackBerry smartphones is available free of charge on BlackBerry App World(TM) and is the latest addition to Evernote's fully synchronized family of products for desktop, Web and mobile devices.
The Evernote application for BlackBerry smartphones is compatible with most recent devices, including the BlackBerry® Bold(TM), the BlackBerry® Storm(TM), the BlackBerry® Curve(TM) series and others. The application takes advantage of the powerful features and capabilities of each smartphone, including easy text entry, camera support, GPS location awareness and audio recording. These features allow users to instantly capture text notes, snapshots, and audio memos whenever inspiration strikes and then find everything using Evernote on their BlackBerry smartphone or computer.
The cloud-based Evernote service is designed to function as an extension of human memory, allowing users to create, capture and find content across all devices and platforms. The application automatically synchronizes with all other versions of Evernote, ensuring that content is accessible and searchable from anywhere, at any time, on any device.
"Launching an application for BlackBerry smartphones is the natural next step in Evernote's evolution and its promise to be a user's 'external brain,'" said Phil Libin, CEO of Evernote. "We are thrilled to deliver our Evernote service to our current subscribers on the much-requested BlackBerry platform, and look forward to the prospect of attracting new fans from among the tremendous population of BlackBerry users worldwide."
