PEO Network Launches Census 2009 Project
Market Wire, June, 2009
PEO Network has launched its 4th Census initiative for Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs).
PEO Network conducts the Census project every 3 years, which provides critical data and benchmarks for the industry. PEOs are a sector of the Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO) industry serving small to mid-sized companies. The first Census project in 2000 helped dispel the myth regarding the existence of 2,500 to 4,500 PEOs whereas the actual number was 917.
"The PEO industry is on track with predictions made in 2007 to increase market share," said Carrie Aaron , president of PEO Network, "despite the economic downturn."
After the project is completed, IDC will assist in compiling data and determine trends based on a 10-year look back. Lisa Rowan who is program manager of HR and talent management services research at IDC will work with PEO Network analyzing the results of this year's census. In her capacity at IDC, Rowan provides expert analysis focused on both the business services addressing HR and talent-related process issues and possesses over 18 years of HR industry experience.
Rowan and Aaron co-authored an article in the October 2007 Issue of PEO Insider magazine, "Double PEO Market Share : Predictions for the Upcoming Tipping Point."
Aaron has over 26 years of PEO industry experience and founded PEO Network in 1995. PEO Network will conduct the project via an electronic survey available at www.peonetwork.com
