Silver Peak Completes Hitachi Data Systems I-LAB(TM) Qualification for SAN Replication
Market Wire, June, 2009
Silver Peak Systems ( www.silver-peak.com ), the leader in data center WAN optimization, today announced that the Silver Peak NX appliances have completed Hitachi Data Systems Interoperability-Lab (I-Lab) testing. Silver Peak is among the first WAN optimization solutions to achieve I-Lab qualification, which ensures proven interoperability between Hitachi Data Systems' leading SAN solution and complementary network and storage products.
Silver Peak's NX appliances were qualified by I-Lab with the Hitachi Universal Storage Platform and Hitachi Universal Replicator software. Testing was completed with both Cisco and Brocade Fibre Channel over IP (FCIP) environments.
Jeff Aaron, vice president of marketing at Silver Peak, said, "The combined products let enterprises protect more data across longer distances, while lowering operational costs and enabling the transition from traditional private line to more cost-effective and flexible MPLS networks. We are pleased to be among the first WAN optimization vendors to complete I-Lab's rigorous testing, as it is an enormous validation of our product, technology, and leadership position in the data center market."
"I-Lab brings forth an environment where, together with our partners and business units, we can work together to ensure seamless SAN integration for our customers," said Roberto Basilio, Vice President, Storage Platforms Product Management, Hitachi Data Systems. "We applaud Silver Peak's certification with Hitachi I-Lab, as Hitachi Data Systems' SAN solutions are bolstered by companies like Silver Peak that help encourage further implementation."
