Market Wire, June, 2009
The Canadian Poker Tour, owned and operated by HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. (PINK SHEETS: HDUP), is pleased to announce that it has secured a deal with WestJet Airlines to offer discounts to its members on airfare to cities hosting major CPT events. The offer will give players a 10% discount on airfares during the event window of major CPT poker tournaments. To qualify to receive the promo codes, players must be members of the CPT Players Card program.
"I am pleased to be able to continue to offer value to our members," stated CPT President Kelly B. Kellner. Membership to the Canadian Poker Tour can be obtained through their website at www.canadianpokertour.tv . The $95 annual fee gives players an annual subscription to Canadian Poker Player Magazine, a starter pack of CPT merchandise and discounts to admin fees at selected CPT events as well as the WestJet promotion. Membership also allows players to accumulate points towards the CPT Players Point Championship where the top players in Canada will compete for 6 one year sponsorship contracts to represent the Tour in 2010. Full details are posted on the website.
The Canadian Poker Tour will host over 350 events in Canada this year and will be announcing a series of poker tourism initiatives with incentives for members to attend events in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and a Poker Super Cruise next spring in addition to the events in Canada.
The first event which qualifies for the WestJet Airlines promotion is the Calgary Classic to be held at the Cash Casino June 24-28. Emails have been sent to members with the discount code for this event or it can be obtained by sending an email request to info@canadianpokertour.tv .
