Turkon Line Selects GT Nexus Portal
Market Wire, June, 2009
GT Nexus today announced that it has been selected by Turkon Line to provide transactional eCommerce services to the carrier's global customers. Turkon Line will integrate its back office systems to support online ocean booking and documentation transactions with multiple global customers through a single Web site -- the GT Nexus Portal.
"Customers prefer transportation providers that can offer proven, simple eCommerce services," said Baris Begen, SAP process development and statistics department manager at Turkon Line. "We selected GT Nexus, because it has been the ocean industry technology platform for years. The fact that many of the world's biggest shippers are paying GT Nexus customers speaks volumes about their ability to deliver value to the industry."
"Turkon Line is committed to helping customers simplify transactions through automation," said John Urban, GT Nexus president. "We welcome them to the growing community of ocean carriers that have standardized on GT Nexus. Our customers place a premium on their carrier's ability to interact with them through technology."
The GT Nexus trade and logistics portal combines two things -- strategic business applications and a network of importers, exporters, carriers, 3PLs, and banks. All capabilities are delivered via the software as a service (SaaS) model, which allows customers to get up and running quickly and cost effectively. Carriers integrate to the GT Nexus portal once and then use that single standardized interface to exchange business information with thousands of global customers.
