XSB, Inc. Awarded Patent for Its Master Data Management Technology

XSB, Inc. ( www.xsb.com ), a Long Island-based product content data management company, announced today that it has been awarded US Patent 7,542,958 titled "Methods for Determining the Similarity of Content and Structuring Unstructured Content from Heterogeneous Sources."
This patent applies to the company's Xtractica® AI system which enables the collection, aggregation and standardization of product data from a variety of heterogeneous web and legacy data sources. Xtractica® generates clean, rich and standardized product data for end users at a fraction of the cost of offshore solutions. The Xtractica® system is comprised of XSB's Ontology Directed Classifier , Ontology Directed Extractor and XRover® data acquisition components.
The Xtractica® system was developed by several XSB researchers including Dr. David S. Warren, Ph.D, XSB's VP of Sciences, and Tatyana Vidrevich, XSB's Chief Technology Officer.

US patent 7,542,958 is XSB's first awarded patent; the company has applied for two additional patents which are currently pending with the US Patent and Trademark Office. Together, these three patents will solidify XSB's diverse portfolio of intellectual property.
