Enterprise Software Industry Veteran Paul Giardina Named CEO of Protegrity Corporation

Protegrity Corporation, a leading provider of Data Security Management Solutions, today announced that Paul Giardina, 41, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Giardina brings more than two decades of enterprise solution experience, deep knowledge of Protegrity's core businesses and management expertise to his new role in the company.

Giardina joined Protegrity in December 2004, most recently serving as Protegrity's Senior Vice President overseeing Marketing, Product Management, Research and Development. He succeeds Gordon Rapkin who accepted the CEO position at New Jersey-based Archive Systems. Raul Ortega, previously Protegrity's VP Product Management, will fill Giardina's Research and Development position. The new executive appointments are effective immediately.

Giardina brings more than two decades of marketing, partnership/product development and executive expertise in the enterprise software industry to his CEO position. Prior to joining Protegrity Giardina was Executive VP at Cartesis, where he established the company's global marketing function and developed key strategic partnerships, he also held senior positions in product management and services at Hyperion Solutions. Giardina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Villanova University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Among his other responsibilities, Giardina will focus on ensuring that Protegrity further capitalizes on its leadership position in enterprise data security, developing strategic partnerships, positioning the company for sustained growth, and leveraging the knowledge gained from his relationships with Protegrity's customers to ensure the company continues to deliver the solutions that enterprises need to protect their data and their brand.
