"Passionately Pink for the Cure(R)" -- Workscape Employees Raise Money & Awareness for Susan G. Komen for the Cure(R)
Market Wire, November, 2009
Workscape, Inc. , a leading provider of integrated HR solutions and services, has helped raise funds for the Massachusetts Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure by becoming "Passionately Pink." As part of the Workscape Gives Back program and to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, employees of Workscape supported Passionately Pink for the Cure, a fundraising program that inspires breast health awareness, breast cancer advocacy and honors those affected by the disease.
On October 4, Workscape employees in the company's Marlborough and Boise locations dressed in pink to kick-off the month-long fundraising effort. Throughout October, Workscape employees donated items and services that were auctioned online. The proceeds from the company-wide auction, coupled with direct individual online contributions, enabled Workscape to contribute $6,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Ed Hurley-Wales, Workscape's senior vice president of Human Resources, commented, "Workscape is committed to giving back to the community. For the second year, our employees chose to help fight against cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are proud to play a part in the battle against this disease, which has affected so many lives."
The auction and related fundraising activities are the latest initiatives in an ongoing series of corporate social responsibility programs sponsored by Workscape and its employees. Most recently, Workscape held its second annual "Workscape Gives Back" tour -- a multi-city event that raised funds and awareness for community food banks. This year's tour covered six Midwestern and Western cities -- beginning in Chicago, Illinois immediately following the HR Technology Conference and ending in Boise, Idaho -- the location of Workscape's HR Service Center. Details of the tour can found on Workscape's blog, which is accessible at http://blogs.workscape.com .
