Lexington Insurance Company introduced Violence Guard(SM) to protect businesses for liability incurred as the (result of acts of violence, no matter whether an employee or the victim is the perpetrator. The policy addresses both business and non-business exposures, and coverage applies to any incident in the United States or Puerto Rico. The named insureds are the business's officers and directors.
Written on an occurrence form, the policy provides indemnity and defense cost coverage for non-employee claims that arise from violent acts; excess employers liability coverage for employee claims that arise from violent acts; punitive damages; and business interruption coverage until the site can resume normal operation. The policy also provides a $50,000 death benefit for families of employees.
